I’ve worked with UN heads of publications and other senior staff to adopt open licences to share the UNs knowledge on Wikipedia. I was in the Partnerships Working Group for the 2030 Wikimedia Strategy, many of our recommendations were adopted including ‘Identify Topics for Impact’.UNESCO: I shared thousands of photographs and graphics on Wikipedia, seen over 10 million time a month across 50 different languages. I developed a process to add open licence text to Wikipedia and trained staff to add publication text to over 250 Wikipedia articles, read over 4 million times a month. I worked with UNESCO delegations on FindingGLAMs, the first worldwide map of cultural heritage institutions. I worked with Wikimedia Sverige and Wikimedia Italia to produce a photography exhibition on cultural heritage at risk. I worked with their social media team to promote Wiki Loves Africa, Wiki Loves Monuments and Wiki Loves Earth. I helped organise Wiki4Women on International Women's Day 2018 and 19 with over 400 people attended including the Director General of UNESCO and several ambassadors. I organised the Wikimedia stall at UNESCO Mobile Learning Week.World Health Organization: I helped them plan projects and open licence their graphics and images.UN FAO: I trained staff members to share graphics from publications, seen around 850,000 times per month on Wikipedia. I supported them (with Richard Nevell at WMUK) to improve 60 Wikipedia articles, viewed over 800,000 times per month.UN Environment Programme: I helped them open licence their flagship publications and share the content in Wikipedia articles.UN Human Rights Office: I helped with the first steps of the amazing work done by Wikimedia Argentina to improve the quality and quantity of human rights content on Wikipedia.United Nations Population Fund: I helped them to improve Wikipedia content on Covid-19 and maternal health.UN Women: I helped them open licence content and share it on Wikipedia including on the impact of the pandemic on women.United Nations Development Programme: I planned their Wikimedian in Residence programme and helped recruit the candidate.World Intellectual Property Organization: I uploaded a large amount of content from their archives and developed their Wikimedian in Residence programme.International Energy Agency: I worked with their staff to contribute to Wikipedia and share their content under an open licence.European Investment Bank: I developed a process, wrote a staff manual and trained staff to share their knowledge, especially around renewable energy and pollution.

Co FounderOpen Coalition Oct 2013 - Sep 2014WorldwideThe Open Coalition is project designed to encourage and facilitate greater collaboration between individuals and organisations that work in "open". This includes open knowledge, open access, open science and so on.The project was conceived at MozFest in 2013 where myself and friends from Creative Commons, Mozilla and Open Knowledge Foundation agreed that there is often a great deal of overlap and duplication in the work of many groups in the open sector. By providing a platform and an umbrella group we can achieve better outcomes and increase collaboration between our communities. I worked with Steve Benton to define the project goals, see www.open-coalition.org for more information.

CreatorMonmouthpedia Oct 2011 - May 2012MonmouthMonmouthpedia is the first Wikipedia project to embrace a whole town—specifically, the Welsh town of Monmouth. The project aims to cover every single notable place, person, artefact, plant, animal and other things in Monmouth in as many languages as possible, but with a special focus on Welsh."Bringing a whole town to life on Wikipedia is something new and is a testament to the forward-thinking people of Monmouth, all of the volunteers and the Wikimedia UK team. I’m looking forward to seeing other towns and cities doing the same thing." Jimmy Wales, co-founder of Wikipedia
