Dublin. The scheme involved 16 major new structures, including 3 river crossings and 3 railway crossings. Included in the bridge structures were two composite structures comprising steel girders with supporting reinforced concrete, as follows: Structure 13 - River Fergus Bridge (€4.5 million): This structure is a three-span steel composite girder bridge, with a main span of 45 metres and side spans of 32 metres. .Structure 01 – Latoon River Bridge (€3.2 million): The structure is a single span Under bridge in which the superstructure comprises variable depth steel plate girders and a reinforced in situ concrete slab. The structure is 55m wide between abutments to accommodate the N18 north and southbound dual carriageways above. The single span structure was adopted to minimise the encroachment of the structure on the River, while the decking merges with the adjacent earthwork slopes. .The project also involved the construction of over 25km of Trunk water main including 9km of 600mm diameter and 11km of 450mm and over 5km of Trunk water main ranging in diameter from 300mm to 200mm. ..Project N2 Castleblaney to Clontibret road scheme 2008-2010, Value €60mThis contract was for the design and construction of 17 Km of 2+ 1 road scheme. The scheme involved the construction of 12 structures, 1 grade separated interchange, 3 on line roundabouts and extensive earthworks through glacial till Drumlins and peat bogs. The contract included the installation of 14Km of water main ranging in diameter from 200mm to 50mm including sluice valves, air valves, wash out chambers, flow meters etc.. Show less

North Relief Road Phase 1 (Abbey River bridge and approach road 1998- 1999) - (€1.5m)This scheme involved the construction of a post tensioned structure spanning the abbey river plus approach roads. The enabling works included the need to install two coffer dams in the form of Larsen piled walls. This in turn formed a water retaining structure to enable the construction of the reinforced concrete pile caps as support to the bridge abutments. As the abbey river is a tidal watercourse it meant that at high tide the piled walls structure had to withstand a 5.5m head differential or > 8000m3 of waterXerox Technology Park, Groundwork Contract 1998 to 1999 (€3.2m)17 week programme to carry out bulk earthworks and access roads including hard standing to all car parks and building positions. Works also included enabling works for ESB and pipe jack crossing underneath N1. N1 Dunleer Dundalk Motorway JV 1999-2001 (€106m) Function on this project- Deputy Project manager as it was a JV.17km of Motorway, 8km of link and side roads, 24 No. road, rail and river bridges. At the time of construction, it was the largest road contract in the history of the state. Works also included extensive water main diversions and new services laid through the scheme ranging in size from 150mm diameter to 450mm diameter both the HPPE and ductile Iron.
