With over 20 years of experience, I am passionate about shaping young minds in the field of PDHPE (Physical Education, Health, and Personal Development). Currently, I hold the leadership position of PDHPE Leader at Xavier Catholic College Ballina, where I have the privilege of guiding and mentoring a dedicated team of educators.In addition to my teaching role, I actively contribute to the wider PDHPE community. I am the 7-12 Collaborative Network Leader-PDHPE for the Catholic Schools Office, Diocese of Lismore. This role allows me to collaborate with colleagues and ensure a strong network for PDHPE teachers across the diocese. I also serve as a Teaching Associate for Southern Cross University, sharing my knowledge and passion with future educators.My journey in education began with a Bachelor's Degree in Human Movement and a Graduate Diploma of Education with a major in PDHPE from Charles Sturt University. This solid foundation has allowed me to continuously evolve and adapt to the ever-changing landscape of education.Before pursuing my passion in education, I spent several years gaining invaluable experience in the hospitality industry, both in Australia and Dubai, UAE. This diverse background has equipped me with a wealth of knowledge and understanding, enabling me to connect with people from all walks of life.As a leader, I pride myself on fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment for both students and fellow educators. I am a firm believer in the power of collaboration and strive to cultivate a strong sense of teamwork within my department.I am passionate about equipping students with the necessary skills and knowledge to lead healthy, active, and fulfilling lives. I am constantly seeking new and innovative ways to engage and challenge them. Sharing my passion for PDHPE, I've presented expertise at conferences like ACHPER, PDHPE Teachers Association, and even EduTECH Australia with Google for Education. This commitment to continuous learning extends to my role as Chair of the 2024 PDHPE Teachers' Association Conference Organising Committee.
