My experience, knowledge and values aligns well with my role particularly being an English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher. I taught ESL from beginner to advanced students of various cultural, linguistic backgrounds and all ages from China for over six years. I have four years of teaching experience online and a couple of years working experience in a face to face classroom set-up as well, with a well-renowned International Learning Institute based in Changsha, China. I am certainly sure that I would make a valuable addition to your organization.I graduated from Saint Louis University with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management way back 2006. Moreover, before stepping into this role, I earned my Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) certification after completing an on-site 120-hour course. With the aid of my teaching experiences and TESOL studies, I developed critical pedagogy and classroom management skills, alongside with a passion for teaching English. I am proficient in learning style assessments like Visual (spatial) Learners, Aural (audio) Learners. Physical (tactile) Learners, Verbal Learners (aka Linguistic Learners), Logical (analytical) Learners, Social Learners (aka Linguistic Learners),Solo Learners and Natural/ Nature Learners. My lessons are tailor-fitted considering each students strengths, weaknesses and interests as well.I'm well equipped with the Communicative Teaching Method, a philosophy that I have been putting into practice with my classes. I incorporate this methodology during the class through interactive, student-centered activities that maximize “Student Talk Time” (STT). STT should be at least 80% of the class time and remaining time should be spent on theory. I scaffold my lessons so that they include pair and group work, as well as to promote collaboration. By engaging students in speaking, grammar, writing, listening, and reading and appealing to diverse learning styles, I help them improve their accuracy and fluency across key skill areas.My relentless passion, commitment and desire towards this job paved the way in achieving the back to back accomplishments duly recognized by my employers.
