The difference in working with me is twofold: First, my intention is to understand my clients, what they are trying to achieve, what their desired outcomes are, and then help them get to that point. Second, are the mechanisms I employ to achieve results—our global firm and my team. By taking a more intellectual and tactical approach, I am able to address my clients’ needs in a holistic manner and provide them with creative ideas to solve problems. A common thread exists among my clients: family takes priority. These are salt of the earth people who have acquired their wealth as entrepreneurs who are currently growing or considering selling their business or transitioning a legacy to their beneficiaries. They are business savvy, rational people, diversified by holding liquid and illiquid assets. They can be attracted to and distracted by these other investments, so my advice and service makes a difference in the success of their portfolio and matters to them in a meaningful way. My experience in having worked in small, privately held businesses and those that have gone public, both in manufacturing and distribution, lends itself well because I have insight into the needs of these types of business owners—I’ve been there. On the personal front, my wife and I have two great kids. Our daughter has her masters in speech pathology and is married to her husband who plays for the KC Royals. Our son has special needs and lives with us. My work as a board member of My Possibilities is a way for me to give back and help prepare a place for him to learn and grow in the future. As a family, we enjoy the mix of the fast-paced lifestyle in Dallas and retreating back home to Prosper.
