About John Calandra

Task Leader of software application development team. I was selected to bring a Systems Engineering approach to complex problems confronting the team. In this role, I am training and guiding team members to be careful about documenting and validating customer requirements, identifying and documenting use cases based on requirements, and developing test plans in which the test cases are tied to requirements. We are validating requirements with our Government customers before use cases are written and development work begins. I am the primary interface with the Government customers and use Jira to task team members. The software is a GOTS application that does not have a documented set of requirements; I will be reverse-engineering a requirements document for the application, and have outlined a long-range plan for updating the application and its components, which includes a custom front-end GUI, ArcGIS, and Oracle database.
