Current Positions: Senior Advisor at Orbis Operations--providing guidance on the implementation and management of a large program to help a friendly foreign partner build their Open Source and Analytic capabilities. Part time faculty at the Naval Postgraduate School--teaching a variety of intelligence courses on international terrorism, countering the proliferation of WMD, Human Intelligence (HUMINT), and Covert Action. Retired senior CIA officer who managed Open Source collection while living in Europe and the Middle East. Prior to that managed analytic groups in the Directorate of Analysis that utilized big data and applied geospatial, temporal, and social network analysis to solve hard problems. Living in Europe, worked 2 years as the senior Iranian nuclear expert for the U.S. government. Also, spent 8 years as a manager and senior analyst working on Chinese S&T and defense modernization issues.
