- Supervising, mentoring and coaching a team of 11 mine planning staff.- Provide technical design input into the short and medium-term scheduling function.- Provide technical assessment of proposed dragline dig sequences to supply thermal coal product mix due to changing market requirements.- Organisational development, skills assessment, design quality monitoring and reporting for the operations planning, scheduling and drill and blast functions

- Develop and implement revised drill and blast operations management structure including recruitment of staff.- Facilitate daily operations meeting to manage critical issues around drill and blast process, between maintenance, operations and planning.- Drive the use of industry leading technical advice to overcome difficulties in drill and blast areas (e.g. blasting over old underground workings that had caved and generation of NOx).- Support the site drill and blast improvement group through participation in idea’s sessions, challenging technical analysis and presentation of improvement opportunities to the operations team.

Aamc Nsw & Qld Sites

- Co-facilitate the ACA Open Cut best practice replication project including collection, analysis and audit of benchmark data, site based interviews and feedback and development of final report to CEO.- Facilitate redrafting of the ACA Open Cut Mine Design Standard.- Monthly collation and reporting of project deliverables.- Establish project plan and charter to guide and monitor delivery of project outcomes including liaison with specialist consultants.- Provide on site training and input into dragline planning including preparation of 3DDig models and cross business networking of dragline planners.- Commence development of ACA wide dragline planning system to improve the delivery of technical planning information for draglines across the business including the preparation and delivery of training course material.

Drayton Mine

- Complete monthly reforecast for management team, using XPAC software reconcile machine performance to update hours database and scheduling parameters, present physicals result to senior management team.- Coordinate and lead a team of short term planning staff (6 people).- Facilitate professional development of short term planning staff by delivering 70% of training requests outlined in performance management process during 2005.- Implement improved weekly planning process by scheduling regular pit tour, preplanning meeting and sign off meeting including developing Action Checklist.- Development of TES skills matrix to identify shortfall in skills and the subsequent development of a training plan to build skills within the department.- Planning Process re-engineering with Partners in Performance consultants. Map overall planning process on site at Drayton and then map lower level planning processes using group and individual interview process. Present final report and recommendations for site continuation.

Prepare, communicate and monitor short and medium-term dig plans.- Monitor and report performance against plan and reforecast on a daily and monthly basis. Present up to date reconciliation information on a weekly and strip by strip basis for the 1370 dragline and 2 * EX5500 excavators.- Preparation of end of month presentations loader and excavator performance data, crushed coal data, equipment hours and 3 monthly coal quality forecasts.- Liaise with operations supervisors and coal quality scheduler to meet shipment specifications for ROM coal (no coal preparation plant) within complex geological environment.
