Charged with defining what came next at Virgin Orbit (VORB) as humanity's access to space is revolutionized, whether it was new vehicles, technologies, or capabilities. Responsible for navigating early technical and financial aspects of aerospace developmental programs both large and small. Primary focus on conceiving new launch capabilities that can perform technically, close financially, and win market share under any combination of constraining requirements and resources.

Technical and conceptual development lead for next-generation launch systems within the Virgin Orbit (formerly part of Virgin Galactic) advanced technology roadmap. Broad experience in many facets of LV design, spacecraft characteristics, and the competitive launch marketplace enables rapid, decisive action and results with an informed and realizable corporate technology path forward.

• As part of a small proposal team of 20-30 FTEs at inception, developed critical systems analyses formatted for initial design review passage of Orbital's air-launched vehicle system concept. Contributions included configuration trades, parametric vehicle performance and sizing analyses, and mission/feasibility studies. • Air-launch vehicle system integrator contract awarded to Orbital by Stratolaunch Systems in June of 2013. Maintained role as vehicle Mission Analysis Lead with specialties in addition to concept proposal roles including oversight in solid motor performance specification, trajectory design, and mass property processes.• Rapid-response engineering team member in the Space Systems Group. Duties included on-the-spot analysis and design response to business proposals as well as program requests in launch vehicle analysis, satellite technologies, and deep-space exploration studies.

• Conducted trajectory and on-orbit GN&C analysis for the Antares (formerly Taurus II) liquid launch vehicle program utilizing 3DoF/6DoF tools and Matlab. Performed concurrent vehicle concept, performance, and trade studies to enable NASA in delivering maximum cargo to the International Space Station. Role highlighted by frequent collaboration with Cygnus design group and Ukrainian manufacturing partners Yuzhnoye and Yuzhmash. • Served as the range safety point-of-contact between Orbital, NASA Wallops Launch Facility, and the Federal Aviation Administration. Maintained ownership of mission-critical deliverables documenting range safety risk and mission analysis, while fostering positive working relationships with range customers. • Devised, developed, and maintained systems data management procedures to promote accurate and traceable analysis summaries for cross-departmental access in a configuration-controlled environment. Achievements included standardization of mass properties, GNC analyses, and performance trades across all cargo resupply missions with emphasis on ability to cross-reference.

• Developed unique free-molecular aerodynamic analysis method and software for spacecraft with results comparable to Direct Simulation Monte Carlo at significantly faster processing speeds. Primary author of two publications on the method.• With the method above, provided aerodynamic stability analyses for aerobraking and entry spacecraft concept design (MMEEV, VRO). Use of free-molecular output with bridging functions to continuum results precluded costly DSMC analysis.• Programmed and compiled new mathematical models into POSTII 3DoF and 6DoF trajectory software (C++ and FORTRAN) to hasten analyses dealing with parachute deployment, flight, and descent. Frequent presentation of results on a deadline basis.• Assisted the Langley Launch Abort System office in trajectory analysis and GNC case studies involving pad and ascent abort modes utilizing POSTII, Matlab, and VBasic codes.

• Managed part-time shift of customer service representatives. Handled customer inquiries, orders, and complaints. Opened and secured 100k sqft warehouse facility.
