I have over over 30 years experience in social work, specialising in 18 years of working with Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children and undertaking Age Assessments. I’ve provided both in house training to local authorities and voluntary agencies for social workers and foster carers around Merton compliant age assessments and the rights and entitlements of separated young people and immigration process. My experience is specifically within local authority operational and management roles. I work systemically and in partnership with families and children for positive outcomes whilst focusing on safeguarding and empowerment.I’ve worked in the North East of England, where I gained extensive knowledge on social justice, inclusion, diversity and cultural awareness. Including; legislation & policy for children in care, care leavers along with the planning and delivery of services. I’ve provided training to both undergraduate and postgraduate social work students at Northumbria University.
