The Rigids & Vocational department is a new department within DAF Marketing & Sales, responsible for market share growth in the rigid truck segment. DAF has the ambition to grow significantly in this segment. The market will undergo significant changes in the coming years, such as the transition to zero-emission trucks and the associated new technology. The Rigids/Vocational department plays a crucial role in guiding this transition within the DAF Marketing & Sales organization and the bodybuilding industry.

Specification control Engineer – DAF trucks EindhovenAt present, I am in charge of ensuring that the specifications of the allotted vehicle lines optimally satisfy the national and international market requirements within the guidelines of the product plan and marketing objectives (and competitive position) of DAF Trucks NV and “selling” their qualities to users.

Set up a DAF dealership including workshop, parts store and three workshops in Aden, Taiz, Al-Hudayda and Al-Mukalla. Trained and supervised drivers, mechanics, storekeepers, and dispatchers. Set up and managed a repair and maintenance control system. Co-ordination of dailymaintenance and repair jobs, actions and campaigns. Handled all warranty claims. Liaison between the Yemen Economical Corporation and Royal Dutch Embassy, other NGO’s and DAF trucks.

Modification, assembly of proto type trucks, with hydraulic steering (EVS) and suspension (HPVS) and other modifications,building trucks by customer’s specification. With the intention to work oversees as the Fleet manager and Technical advisor for GINAF trucks .

Manage day to day workshop activities, customer complains etc. Diagnose, repair, maintain and major overhaul of all Caterpillar-type engines. Periodic inspections and repairs of heavy duty on highwaytrucks, school buses and generators.

Responsible for the coordination and logistic of air and road (heavy truck).Transportation to Ngara Refugee camps and up to former Zaire and Rwanda.All procurement for Care’s Rwanda refugee program in Ngara and Karagwe.Ensured administrative support to all emergency and development programs in the region. Represented CARE and coordinated with government officials with regard to import/export exemption regulations. Fleet management; trained supervised drivers and mechanics (Preventive maintenance and major repairs).70 + staf ,Supervised and approved all financial and administrative tasks for Mwanza sub-office.
