John de Wit is an accomplished global compliance and global investigator offering more than 36 years of investigation experience – 11 in law enforcement, 12 in forensic investigations consulting and the last 13 years as an in-house investigations lead in the oil and gas industry, including at a UK oil major.In the past 3 years he has set up and led the Ethics & Compliance function implementing Code of Ethical Conduct, program management of key policies such as ABC, anti-fraud, AML, training and 3rd party/human risk. John is vastly experienced in commercial investigations in both the public and private sectors across EMEA. Throughout his career, he has performed and led investigations of bribery, corruption, fraud, procurement irregularities, syndicated criminal activity, money laundering, trade mark infringements and employee misconduct. In addition, he has expertise in asset tracing, dispute resolution, data analytics, visual intelligence analysis and the application of forensic technology in the collection of data and the utilisation of e-discovery platforms. John has highly developed skills in establishing misconduct and loss reporting programmes; leading engagements across multiple jurisdictions; managing large multi-disciplinary/multi-language investigation teams; developing, establishing and presenting investigation training programmes; fraud risk management; government enforcement/regulatory relationships; advising on and establishing ethics & compliance programmes, and managing complex stakeholder relationships across large organisations.
