I am currently writing the second book in The Residium trilogy, and short stories.I recently launched and run Fife Forge, a combined retail, museum and creation space for Scottish art, books, collectables and antiques with a focus on story telling. In my past life!, I have over a decades' experience as a legal professional working in private practice, government and the corporate world in New Zealand, the United Arab Emirates and Scotland.I served as a solicitor to the New Zealand Treasury, General Counsel & Board Secretary, Abu Dhabi Ports Operating Company (ADT), Counsel to the Tourism Development & Investment Company (Abu Dhabi) and Counsel to G42, the UAE's cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence company.Major projects undertaken include the start up of: Khalifa Port Container Terminal, Abu Dhabi, (the first semi-automated container terminal in the Middle East), Mohamed Bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (the first AI university in the world), the Louvre Museum, Abu Dhabi and the growth and expansion stages of G42, particularly in the investment and IT contracting functions.In addition to my corporate experience, I have experience acting for charitable and non-profit bodies, start up and early stage companies, venture capital and private equity providers and innovation incubators in New Zealand, Scotland and the United Arab Emirates. Such experience includes mentor, trustee and directorship roles.
