This was a short term contract with Vinci Construction as an interim buildings manager whilst the transfer of the building was completed between Vinci Constuction and the BBC. My tasks were to set up protocols at the new BBC studios at Roath Basin, Cardiff, with a team of 3 personnel to which I was the team leader and our tasks were to ensure that security of the building was kept intact, making sure there were sufficient security personnel on site at all times. Also to ensure that all contractors/visitors conformed to all fire drills and evacuation procedures and that contractors had their required "permits to work" as well as "method statements" logged. To ensure that all health and safety requirements were adhered to and any issues found, were reported to the senior site manager. As Facilities Executive I was first point of contact for all contractors and suppliers, my role was to arrange all the required facilities within the company, which included; Catering,Fire Safety,H/S, Stationary Requirements, Postal arrangements, Security, DSE requirments, Heating and Ventilation control, Drinking water needs and procurement of all other facilities related goods.
