Being passionate about tennis, my playing career began when I was 3 years old, way before having the opportunity to join the Wittenberg University Men's Tennis Team. During my four years, I was able to compete at a high level, refine my tennis skills, and embrace core values of discipline and teamwork. Being able to represent Wittenberg University instilled in me a deep sense of sportsmanship, which shaped my approach to being a player and a coach. After discovering my passion in coaching, I was able to return to Wittenberg University after graduation, taking on the role of Success Advisor. With this role, I am able to leverage my undergraduate experiences to mentor first-year students, guiding them through the beginning of their new academic and personal journeys. Simultaneously, I was giving the opportunity to contribute back to the tennis program as a Part-Time Assistant Coach, sharing my knowledge and fostering the growth of aspiring student-athletes.My coaching philosophy revolves around creating an inclusive environment, where players feel empowered to push their boundaries and strive for constant improvement. I believe tennis offers invaluable life lessons beyond the court, teaching resilience, adaptability, and teamwork. Through personalized training programs and motivational support, my goal is to empower players to reach their full potential and achieve their goals, on and off the court. I also prioritize relationship-building outside of tennis, to build player-coach and player-player bonds that create a sense of trust and camaraderie for the team, as well as relationship for their post-college life. Beyond Wittenberg, I remain deeply involved in the tennis community, participating in adult tournaments and staying updated on coaching methodologies. My commitment to tennis unwavering, as I continue to cultivate the next generation of tennis enthusiasts and inspire them to succeed both in the sport and in life. Let's connect and collaborate to further enrich the world of tennis together.

Student InternWittenberg University May 2021 - May 2023My student-intern job title was COMPASS Intern: Student Engagement & Greater Springfield Collaborations. What my job title means is that I worked with businesses and other parts of Springfield where we can help get the students engaged with downtown. That can be by promoting Springfield events to the students, or even having our own events downtown as well. One of our focuses with this in COMPASS was to have parents feel comfortable to send their students to Wittenberg knowing that the surrounding Springfield area is safe and that there are things that their students can do to around the town. Another part of my job that didn't fall underneath this job title was working with the Associate Vice President of Student Development and Senior Associate Dean of Students on CREDO: Move the Needle projects. All the work that I did in this area is organize the four subset projects, by their "Early Wins" and "Milestones". Then, I worked with the AVP of Student Development to tell me the updates they had for each of these, who the point person was for the specific one, and when they planned on checking back in for new updates. The AVP of Student Development and I met weekly to review the updates that were planned before that meeting, and assigned new tasks for both of us before the next meeting. -

Tennis InstructorDes Moines Golf And Country Club Apr 2021 - Aug 2021Clive, Iowa, United StatesI worked with children from the ages of three to 18. I instructed them how to play tennis. This was done by creating games that helped teach the strokes, and by doing private/semi-private lessons where I would focus more on the fundamentals of the forehand, backhand, serve, etc. I was also the coach to a team of 7-10 players from the club. We would travel to other clubs around the Des Moines area, and I would work with each player during their match. I would be there to help them with scoring, remind them on groundstrokes, and help them with certain in-match situations. I also worked the front desk in the pro shop, on occasion. I would answer phone calls, appropriately respond to emails, and do business transactions with customers. I also would participate in women's and men's tennis night and pickleball leagues, when I was needed.
