My name is Dr. John Devlin and I am a process development chemist. Until recently I was Vice President of R+D at Organichem in Albany, New York. Organichem is a manufacturer of over 70 different API’s and advanced intermediates some of which are in the high potency/ cytotoxic arena. I was one of the founding members of Organichem and part of the team involved in the management buyout of the site from Nycomed Amersham. Following a highly successful three years in which the sales increased from US$42M to US$85M (with corresponding increases in EBIT from US$3.6 to US $14.2M), Organichem was purchased by Albany Molecular Research.After the buyout I took the opportunity to form my own consultancy company, DEVCHEM PTY LTD, where hopefully my expertise in chemical process development and optimization and the regulatory aspects of scale up and API manufacturing in general and high potency manufacture in particular can be of use to companies and organizations such as your own.My expertise has been gained in working for nearly 25 years in the chemical industry during which time I have participated many regulatory inspections from the likes of the FDA, EPA, TGA and DEA. I am a Director in two small “local” biotechs, Research Directions, a small lab discovery and development house and MigCo, a Christchurch New Zealand based developer of Migraine treatments and order neurological disorders.Specialties: general chemical development and scale up, oncologics manufacture
