I’m only settling into my new HEA role. I’ll update my profile with a more accurate explanation of my duties and responsibilities in due course. My previous role was with the DSS. In that role I was responsible for the management of MS Dynamics technical issues. This involved inspecting system issues, gathering information, reporting system issues, and following up with 3rd party vendors. Prior to this, for 20+ years, I worked for CDETB. I started off as basic IT support - performing system backups, payroll backups etc. I also undertook several different acting positions, incorporating office, staff, and project management. Most of my time saw me steadily evolve from a technical perspective. This saw me troubleshooting pcs, laptops, servers, network connectivity, e-mail connectivity, web access, AD user setup, hardware installation/troubleshooting, software installation/troubleshooting, helpdesk management, sourcing software and sourcing hardware.The last couple of years in CDETB saw me move away from the support realm [but not completely] and more towards high level systems administration and project management. This involved working closely and effectively with many third-party vendors and internal stake holders on the successful implementation of numerous projects, e.g., DELL Powerflex hyper converged infrastructure, upgrade of Remote Desktop deployments, and facilitating Shared Services systems connectivity.I am a natural leader, derived from the way I work and how I foster an inclusive, learning, and open working environment.I've helped numerous staff settle into our IT department and nurtured them with their evolution, ultimately helping them realise the best possible version of themselves.I am an excellent problem solver, using a sharp, analytical and focused frame of mind to come up with solutions, sometimes in a very pressurised environment.Communication skills are highly underrated, but good communication skills can hugely reduce troubleshooting time, speed up solution delivery time, and deliver the best and most suitable solutions.I am a superb listener and communicator. I can absorb information extremely well and relay it back very articulately, changing the delivery to suit an intended audience if needed.This skill alone would see me succeed in most roles, the only variant being how quick I succeed.As the well-known saying goes, know yourself to know others. I know myself extremely well. Hence, I know people well. This means I can get the best out of myself and any organisation's most valuable assets - its people.
