I have been working in the IT industry as a Unix Systems Administrator for over 20 years. For the past 7 years I have been managing and automating management of several thousand virtual Linux systems via tools such as Puppet. Most recently I have been involved in a project to migrate from Puppet to Ansible. The virtual systems themselves run under VMware and AWS. While automation via Puppet/Ansible has been my focus in recent years, Unix Systems Administration has been my primary occupation for most of my career. My expertise includes multi-platform configuration, operation, and maintenance with an emphasis on network services such as dns, mail, web servers, and monitoring. I have worked in many industries, including telecommunications, financial, and software. System networks I have administered range from 15 to 5000 nodes.
