Pennsylvania has been geologically blessed with respect to the occurrence of oil and natural gas. Relaxed regulations and nearly non-existent environmental concerns led to hundreds of thousands of wells being drilled without being properly tracked, or disposed of when oil recovery was completed. It was a six-week summer course that examined the Western United States geology. The class focus was a different geologic exercise each week in a new region. The topics were stratigraphy, structural geology, contact metaphoric modeling, and geologic mapping.

A Month-long expedition into the Olocho region in Honduras to investigate Cloud forest impacted by deforestation, and cooperation of different farming practices within its environment.
