Lead role as point of contact for customers. Serve as an educator & an outbound parts sales professional to aid in the creation of new customer opportunities. Manage & maintain inventory & efficient/profitable Parts Dept. though staffing, customer retention, & training, while improving productivity & reducing costs. Estab. pricing parameters to generate sufficient gross profit to produce satisfactory in house profitability while maintaining customer loyalty. Maintain profit & loss margins. Seek out new vendors, suppliers & manufacturers & negotiate terms for greater profitability & increased market share.Ensure monthly & year-to-date parts performance goals are met. Increase in overall sales of 11% over the course of this yr.HR objectives to include review applications/resumes, interviewing, hiring, counseling/mentoring, performance reviews, disciplinary action, & termination. And scheduling, payroll, & calculate monthly sales commissions. Work with management in preparing short & long term operational & budgetary goals for Parts Depart. Attend weekly meetings to review current sales & make amendments to sales directives according to objectives. Create weekly KPI report & review to ensure sales to date are within the perimeters of the annual & monthly sales/profit objectives.Conduct daily sales team meetings to review accounts, assess current sales/promotional items, review previous unfinished business, assess direction of sales flow & make corrections as necessary.Develop merchandising strategies through weekly sales flier based on special buys, inventory, &/or seasonal considerations. Keep abreast of current & upcoming trends & market conditions through OEM training, periodical education, constant communication with customers, service failure reports, & sales personnel. Understand & maintain information pertaining to all federal, state & local regulations that affect parts operations (i.e. hazardous waste disposal, OSHA, EPA, etc.).

Select, evaluate & negotiate local/national vendor proposals incl: fuel, oil, tire, small/med/lrg equipt., & all other contract/non contract expenditures. Approx. reduction in expense of 1% to 20% over 6 yrs; dependent upon equipt./supply category.Develop specs for all vehicles/equipt. Incl Class 1, 5, 6, 7 & 8 vehicles, concrete mixers, gravel/service trucks, pneumatic trailers, flatbeds, heavy equipt. trailers, engines, generators, loaders, fork lifts, skid steers & chillers.Develop, prepare/present annual capital expenditure budgets. Estab. cost containment procedures while developing purchasing requisitions & approve all.Responsible for safety, service, quality & productivity of shop operations. Estab. manpower needs during off season. Determine whether in house or contract repairs are necessary &/or economically feasible. Reduction in outside vendor repair costs/frequency rate by approx. 15% in 6 yrs.Supervise Maintenance & Training Coordinator, Shop Superintendents, Shop Foreman, Mechanics, Blding Maintenance Personnel, Purchasing Assistants, & Purchasing Clerk at multiple facilities. Hiring, compensation, promotion, discipline, & termination. Maintain current info. re: local & federal regulations to stay compliant w/laws incl. DOT, OSHA, & report/manage CSA data.Committee member Re: acquisition, design & renovation of the new corp. headquarters & new 65,000 sq. foot maintenance facility. Interview, proposal review & selection of the architect, contractors, HVAC, electrical, IT, security & designers; & compliance with all applicable govt regulations re: improvements. Maintain the physical operations of the corporate offices, shop & facilities. Evaluate payload, operating efficiency & fuel economy of all vehicles. Plus marketing, advertising & negotiating the sale of used equipment as recommended; traded or sold out right. Selected/managed installs of maintenance software & new communication devices (“Track-It” & “Smart Drive”).

Evaluate, develop, implement & adjust new/current policies regarding comprehensive short & long range preventative maintenance programs that preserve viability, reliability, availability & effectiveness of the equipt. while maintaining cost of operation. Maintain an accurate database of all equipt. maintenance. Determine the appropriate combination of “real world” best practices in terms of maintenance intervals/frequency. Determine processes, techniques, tools, IT, hardware, software, databases, support services & staffing are necessary. Develop & maintain a communications/info. center for the purpose of receiving, collecting, distributing, responding, documenting, controlling & reporting on all repair/maintenance needs, communications & activities. Provide a comprehensive budget; develop process for tracking encumbrances & expenditures. Review cost statements to locate excessive expenses & develop plans, policies & budgets to reduce associated costs.Recognize & respond to the need to retrofit, remodel, renovate, & replace equipment &/or alter existing facilities. Provide support to Driver Support Depart. Interact with drivers & Operations Dept. to resolve issues & address identified needs.Participate as a key stakeholder in all matters regarding equipt. projects including Spec negotiation & completion, warranty requirements, complete cost evaluations (including cost of ownership), to commissioning & beyond.Manage human resource activities within the department.Refined the “Over the Road” breakdown program providing specific guidelines pertaining to allowable, safety related repairs in order to greater impact controls, whereas non were previously established. Reorganized & prioritized the Parts Dept. by limiting parts inventory to “immediate need” & “most commonly used” parts utilizing a “minimum/maximum” bar coded, computerized system.Perform warranty investigation & submission for reimbursement, which includes dispute resolution.
