- Designed the Compassion Outcomes Framework (COF) , a DSL-driven technology integration platform for Monitoring & Evaluation and Program Effectiveness research. Like a "SQL of outcomes or KPIs", COF provides users with declarative YAML syntax that configures XLSForm survey generators, scalable data pipelines, integrations with data tools like ODK, Kobotoolbox, SurveyCTO, QuestionPro and Qualtrics and Translation platforms like Tolgee. COF has over 9,000 commits (most users previously did not have Git experience) with over 4,000 variables managing hundreds of surveys in dozens of countries, enabling longitudinal research via variants across contexts and demographic strata.- Designed the Compassion Data Model (CDM), which leverages code generators and JSON schemas to apply a logical abstracted model across a wide variety of data fabric technologies. Data modelers generate Pulsar function event mappers at the same time they generate Snowflake data warehouse views, applying data governance (like role based access and classification) from a single source of truth. CDM models are flattened for SQL, are nested JSON for APIs, and leverage open source technology to generate code models for languages like Go, Java, Python and TypeScript.

- Spearheaded the development of several tools that either made the broader team more productive, delivered higher quality results to clients, or launched new product lines at the company- Backend architect for blackmarker.com and glyphicsoftware.com, building out the autoscaling microservices and deploying CNN and xgboost models- Retooled an open-source project management platform into the Vault, a corporate artifact repository. This tool helped with BD, corporate strategy, tracking current and past projects, tracking employee certifications and experience, and promoted the reuse of existing tools and technologies across verticals. Built several integrations and tools to drive employee adoption- Advised the team that maintains a combat incident database in Oracle on how to introduce ElasticSearch to provide more powerful text and analytic query ability. Prototyped a system using a MMO game's API and briefed stakeholders on the benefits of NoSQL- Advised one of the largest CPG firms on data strategy and audited their nascent data lake in MS Azure. Worked closely with the engineering team as they designed pipelines in ADF and reusable data engineering components across diverse data sources and problems.- Leveraged proprietary complex event processing engine to stream a hydroelectric power company's SCADA data at the minute level. Integrated time series summaries from R to build out the base table for survival modeling. Advised on AWS architecture and introduced partitioning and JSONB in the Postgres database to enable it to process hundreds of millions of events.- Built a portal for a university health foundation so that development officers can cultivate relationships with donors. This project involved ingesting medical records, tracking and reporting cultivation activities, using and a REST API to automate wealth screening. Deployed a propensity model using all available data to help triage those patients who were most likely to give to the foundation.
