As a part-time architectural design tutor at University of NSW for over 35 years, John’s principal message to the students is that the architectural act is as much about the deep structures of the human condition and the existential resonance of space, as it is a meditation on the natural world. Rather than being regarded as a singular, stylistic or fashionable response, it should engage our human senses through a transformative framing of space and place, one that explores our sense of being and well-being, merged with our modern technological lives , revealing emotional and holistic meaning to our experience, as simply and minimally as possible, with practicality and circumstance, sensitivity and thoughtfulness. geoform the office is therefore an integrated architectural and interior design studio that focuses on the creation of contemporary and holistic architectural environments that are bespoke and curated to site specifics, cohesive in form and materiality, and respond to the human condition...with passion + joy.In a practical sense, the office deals with all matters architectural, from master planning to interiors to furniture design, but notably specialises in all forms of creative housing solutions from single bespoke, to high quality multi-residential. Council mediation and approval management, through a strong team of parallel consultants, has ensured a a very successful approval track record. The office also specialises in Planning Proposals and has a very high level of SEPP 65 expertise with John sitting on Sutherland Council’s Design Review Forum for the last 10 years and as Chairman for the last 5. Our Office was featured in the international Exhibition: "40 UP - Australian Architecture's Next Generation" - exhibited in Sydney, Melbourne and Berlin.John’s ZETA leather fireplace, designed for ECOSMART, was one of the winners in the 2009 Australian International Design Awards.
