I am a freelance playwright, screenwriter, actor, teacher, and producer based in Adelaide, South Australia.For two decades I have successfully balanced the role of Head of Drama at a leading independent school, Professional Actor, Theatre Educator, and Acting Teacher as well as Playwright.My career also saw me in the role of Third Assistant Director on a number of commercial mini-series during the 1990s.Each of my pursuits feeds the other; I find myself easily adapting to whatever role I find myself in.As an acting teacher, I am frequently sought by South Australia’s foremost acting agencies and specialize in working with young adult actors toward attaining industry standards of performance.I have written numerous plays, some specifically with a view to extending young actors’ skills, enjoyment, and appreciation of theatre. My well-received plays are available through https://australianplays.org/ Among them “Miles Away” , having started life as a one-woman play commissioned by actress Renee Gentle for the Adelaide Fringe 2014, was developed to a piece for a cast of sixteen. Unfortunately, efforts to professionally stage 'All Blood Runs Red,' a play commemorating ordinary people caught up in the maelstrom of World War One, in 2018 did not make budget.I am also privileged to hold the position of Head of Drama at Westminster School, Adelaide, where staff and students alike are very receptive to learning about Theatre Arts.Often I find myself learning as much from my students as, I hope, they learn from me!.
