Started as a Systems Developer working on a business critical system (GMPICS) involved in improvements and maintenance. This then expanded into 3rd-Line support and Systems Programming. Since 2009 I have also been working on the Oracle Business Intelligence system maintaining parts of the Data Warehouse and working on improvements and maintenance to the reports and Intranet pages the system feeds into. Mainframe Systems Development (COBOL, Tandem Non-Stop/HP Integrity). SQL & PL/SQL Development within the Oracle Middle-Tier/Business Intelligence Framework. Systems Programming (Shell-Scripts, Scheduled tasks & Data Integration including GoldenGate). Maintenance of Java-Script produced Intranet Pages. Development and maintenance of Business Intelligence Reports and repositories. Responsible for developing three real-time interfaces to GMPICS system from external systems.

Initially employed as temporary summer staff to help enrol the new intake but my role was expanded to help distribute and set-up the pre-term hardware refresh. I was then promoted to full-time staff responsible, as part of a four man team, for maintaining a two-site Novell network with 250 PCs and 6 servers. Maintenance and installation for Novell and Microsoft servers, AV and phone equipment.
