Product design, development and management for the railcar and truck-trailer product lines.Provide support to Sales, Technical Services, Production, Purchasing, Vendors and Customers.Assign and maintain material, part and assembly numbers within the MRP system.

• Coordinate and facilitate new or existing products to meet customer and company standards.• Work directly with customer and vendors to gather information on design inputs to establish project schedule timing and costs.• Coordinate, while participating in the execution and control of projects to achieve cost, manufacturability and design requirements. • Coordinate activities within the project between all supporting departments including design engineering, manufacturing, quality, procurement, sales, marketing, and customers.• Initiate and monitor the assembly of prototypes, contribute in resolving design problems, and modifying or correcting documents.• Assist in preparation of information packages to customers, suppliers and internal departments.• Estimate time required to complete assignments.

• Prepare information and process requests for engineering evaluation, laboratory testing and quality assurance pilot runs.• Resond to customer inquiries on matters relating to product applications and modifications.• Design new or modified products based on customer application requirements.• Evaluate customer application needs by means of 3D modeling.• Coordinate engineering, manufacturing, quality control and purchasing to prepare quotations.• Provide system and product training for new hires within the engineering and sales departments.• Evaluate product performance issues as related to customers applications.• Prepare component and assembly models and specification drawings in Pro/E.

• System and product training for new hires.• Accompany regional sales managers on top tier customer visits.• Work with manufacturing on order scheduling.• Internal point of contact for the regional sales managers and national product distributors.• Process requests to engineering for custom product quotations.• Placement, follow up and expediting of customer purchase orders.
