Responsible for ensuring the properfunctionality of every piece of equipment in the diesel propulsion plant and its supporting systems on various ships including container, car carrier, tankers, and military . Vessel system and operational responsibilities included the monitoring and maintenance of propulsion equipment, power generation and management systems, refrigeration and HVAC, alarm monitoring and dynamic positioning system automation, deck machinery and cranes, dry bulk and liquid cargo transfers, and firefighting components including the CO2 system. Responsible for all below deck cargoes and engineering stores including the tracking and reporting on the consumption of fuel, water, lube oils, hydraulic oils and engineering spare parts and supplies. I maintained and managed wastewater treatment systems aboard the vessel including the oily water separator and marine sanitation device with utmost regard for the environment, ensuring proper operation, maintenance and calibration of all system components. In holding the senior engineering position aboard the vessel, and with my expertise in the aforementioned fields, I managed and trained individuals on the appropriate preventative maintenance and watch standing necessary to keep the entire vessel in operation. Competent in proper record keeping to the requirements of company policies and all legally binding documents regulated by the Coast Guard and affiliated regulatory bodies.
