From 1980 to 2020, natural hazards in Europe affected nearly 50 million people and caused economic losses of an average of 12 billion euros per year. Over the past two decades, I have worked to better model natural hazards and their impacts, thereby helping reduce these appalling loses.I am a prize-winning expert in natural hazard and risk assessments, particularly those related to earthquakes, with around 25 years of experience at institutions in the UK, France and Iceland. Since joining Frazer-Nash Consultancy in 2024, I have become involved in the development of safety cases concerning withstand against external (natural) hazards, for nuclear-related facilities, as well as undertaking independent technical assessments of engineering substantiations. In addition, I continue to play key roles in conducting of seismic hazard assessments for critical infrastructure (e.g. nuclear power plants) as well as conducting independent peer reviews of such assessments for a wide variety of clients. Please contact me if you are seeking a consultant to work on your projects. Thank you.
