After studying Industrial Chemistry for 3 years at Caulfield Institute of Technology I was employed by Imperial Chemical Industries of ANZ as a laboratory technician, but working as a radiation technician. A year later I attended Hawthorn Teacher's College for two years. After graduation from college I went on to teach mathematics, science and computer studied as a secondary school teacher. Whilst teaching I began studying mathematics at Monash University by distance education and eventually graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science with majors in computational mathematics and engineering mathematics.During the time I was at Caulfied Institute I enlisted for service in the Royal Australian Army Reserve, and served for 6 years in leu of full time National Service. Over this period of time I trained as a medic and attained the rank of sergeant, acting as Company Sergeant Major.On completion of my service in the army I studied theology in night school at the Faith Teaching Bible School for four years.In 1984 we moved to Canberra to pastor Calvary Chapel.In January 2001 I was elected as General Superintendent of the United Pentecostal Church of Australia and held that position until January 2022.I am currently semi retired.After leaving the Victorian Education Department I moved to Canberra and pastored Calvary Chapel United Pentecostal Church until 2013. In 2001 I was elected as General Superintendent of the United Pentecostal Church of Australia and still hold this office.
