Responsible for developing and executing Primus' commercial build program, assembling a team to take the company's new proprietary technology from demonstration scale through to commercial operation in multiple facilities. Headquartered in Hillsborough, N.J., Primus Green Energy has developed an innovative alternative drop-in fuel technology that produces high-octane gasoline or jet fuel that can be used directly in engines as a component in standard fuel formulas without costly engine modifications or changes to the fuel delivery infrastructure. The Primus Green Energy technology is a proprietary version of proven commercial technologies to convert herbaceous crops and woody biomass or natural gas to liquid transportation fuels such as gasoline, diesel and jet fuel. • Directly responsible for the transfer of new technology to commercial scale and for the development of the core process design for the commercial build program. • Led a hand-picked cross-functional team in a five month mission-critical effort to simplify the process and improve project financials. Significantly reduced capital and operating costs and restored the project to target metrics. • Work closely with R&D to improve performance, evaluate next generation technologies and maintain a state-of-the-art process design.

• Led a design team that developed a first-of-a-kind commercial-scale Process Design Package for a new cellulosic ethanol process. • Worked closely with R&D to develop and finalize a full scope design basis suitable for scale up. Led small engineering teams that investigated and evaluated numerous technology alternatives to optimize unit operations. • Assembled and led a cross-functional team of engineers, technologists and operators that designed tens of millions of dollars in capital improvements to the company’s Demonstration facilities

• Assembled and managed a technology group and, working closely with R&D, developed a leading edge biofuels technology, including over 1,000 hours of pilot plant operations and scale-up and validation work with outside laboratories.• Contributed to raising over $15 million in venture capital and private equity investments by developing and presenting business plans and corporate pro formas to prospective investors and hosting extensive technical and business due diligence sessions for investors and outside Independent Engineers.• Led an effort that obtained $5 million of DoE funding for company research and development.• Negotiated and managed the company’s first international licensing agreement with two Japanese partners, and explored other potential licensing partners worldwide.• Secured an $85 million project debt commitment, working with leading investment banking firms to create a non-recourse project financing program including full technical due diligence, feedstock and product contracting, and environmental permitting
