I quickly evaluate organizations’ operations and finances and develop plans to address issues and create smooth-running and profitable organizations. My success comes from motivating staff to take ownership and contribute to solutions. American Dental Partners was transitioning from managed care, where they didn’t need to collect money, to fee for service. The staff lacked training in money collection and the financial systems were inadequate. I reassigned some staff, developed systems, and rapidly grew revenue. The practice’s rapid growth presented challenges. New patients needed to complete paperwork and furnish previous records and insurance information. This process was clumsy, time consuming, and alienated patients. I gathered my staff and brainstormed, and created a new patient guide to streamline the process and create a smooth flow. This system was replicated in all the Wisconsin offices. Under my direction, the new 12-chair facility that some said we’d never be able to fill was quickly used and we even had to develop an overflow practice. Using my IT experience, I purchased suitable hardware and rewired the office.While in the military, I initiated programs and took the initiative to:Purchase medications in bulk and arranged for MRI’s with the VA to make them more affordable for military families.Engineer a solution to pollution from leaky gas tanks in Coast Guard boats.
