John Drees is currently a member of the Network and Tactical Systems Executive Leadership Team serving as the Brigade Combat Team Modernization C4ISR Director. In this capacity John leads a Team of over 250 engineers and 13 major subcontractors working to develop the next generation of Army tactical capabilities. John’s career with Boeing began in 1985 when he joined McDonnell Douglas, after completing his first degree in electrical engineering from LB State. His early years were spent performing many electronics/avionics designs, working out of the advanced processors core group.John then moved into the ranks of management with his first program assignment on the International Space Station, ultimately moving to director of Avionics. In this role he lead a large multi disciplined team in the design, development, manufacture, qualification and procurement of space based avionics for the international Space Station. In this role John started his work with international partners (primarily Italy and Russia).John’s next assignment was the GBI Boost Vehicle Chief Engineer and Deputy IPT lead. In this role, he led a multi disciplined team in the design, development, manufacture, qualification and procurement of the boost vehicle for the ground based interceptor. John’s team successfully completed design through 2 successful flight tests in a 2 year phase.John then served as Satellite Payload Chief Engineer and deputy IPT lead, responsible for managing budget, schedule and technical development of the bus and payload for a major propitiatory satellite.John transitioned to Program Management as the PM for Vigilare in Brisbane Aus.
