I am the Safety Advocate—a performance driven professional striving for a zero injury culture. I have worked with several high hazard organizations and helped them realize and achieve zero harm targets. The common definition of zero injuries is having no recordable injuries for a minimum of twelve months. This goal is challenging and many worldwide organizations aspire to that level of performance but never achieve it. By influencing safety teams and implementing flexible management systems, I have achieved zero injuries, while saving hundreds of thousands of dollars for reinvestment.The key to zero harm is planning for interdependence—a state of nirvana that safety professionals strive for where everyone works together to prioritize health, safety, and wellbeing. Getting organizations and teams to interdependence drives me to continue in my profession for that feeling of moral accomplished. In my personal life, I spend a lot of time reading and usually focus on thriller novels and suspense. I do like to write fiction and have drafted a few novels. That love of reading developed from my studies, which I obtained my degree through distance learning and essay writing. I remember working in the Middle East, and studying at night, and seeing how my written communication has been a weakness of mine, which I found avenues to improve my technical and fiction writing to further develop it as my strengths.
