Current• Acquire book proposals- Review proposals and comment, reply to authors- Research writers, subjects, and competing books- Work with ambassadors, friends of the company, and random contacts to generate book proposals- Research and outline book topics and find writers to write them• Edit Patagonia Books- Work with authors on refining first draft, and meeting deadlines, (creative edit first draft, line edit second draft)(this has involved interviewing the author, transcribing the interviews, and working them into a manuscript)- Schedule and manage the copy editing and proofing process to deliver a finished manuscript to design- Schedule and manage the formatted proof- Provide marketing materials for book distributor and in house Patagonia promotions- Work with book designer, illustrator, photo editor, and map makers to make a cohesive book• Promote Patagonia Books- Work with author to prepare presentations for book signings and other events- Work with Director of Books, Retail Events Coordinator, PR and others to promote book titles
