Analyzed political partitions within the 111th and 112th U.S. Congress, using publicly available bill sponsorship data. Built a webcrawler using Python and BeautifulSoup to collect the data, then interpreted the data in Matlab using modularity and community detection algorithms. Eventually presented my findings at RIT's 2013 Undergraduate Research Symposium.

Optimized MATLAB code modeling fluid dynamics. The original code attempted to find a numerical solution to a system of differential equations representing fluid traveling through a weir. Reported weekly to my research advisor detailing my progress and goals for future research. Resulted in a > 30x speedup for code run time, and tweaked several parameters for a better numerical solution.

Rewrote from scratch major parts of the in-house server inventory database. Designed a new relational database to eventually replace the current one, and maintained the in-house web interface to the new server inventory database.
