Was responsible for providing architectural and design leadership for services within the Business Insight, Data Warehousing and Master Data Management portfolios supporting BT's internal Finance, HR and Supply Chain functions. I owned the development and evolution of IT systems and technology strategy direction for reporting specifically relating to the migration from an Oracle ERP to SAP ensuring the exploitation of systems and technology to deliver business and cost transformation within Finance. This involved utilising the Oracle reporting product set (i.e. Oracle Cloud Analytics, OBI, ODI) and latterly SAP Business Warehouse and SAP Analytics Cloud. Responsibilities included:• Reporting workstream lead authority for £260m Finance Transformation programme managing the production of the High Level solution design and techmap showing the architectural end-state for reporting.• Writing the BI strategy for the Finance Transformation programme to enable the selection of the appropriate ERP to be deployed.• Recruited additional technical resources to create the Reporting Design team to identify the existing reporting legacy infrastructure and evaluate customer requirements to inform the overall solution design.• Provided architectural input into redesign of a number of Regulatory reporting applications involving technical discussions with 3rd party development team and ensuring BT’s architectural polices were adhered to and that other platforms were engaged in the overall design.• Created new estimation tool for architecture team to reduce the amount of time taken to produce resource/cost estimates and improve the consistency of costing/forecasting.

Provision of commercial insight and governance framework for application support used within BT’s Technology division. Manage key vendor relationships including off-shore partners, and the provision of business insight support. Achievements include:• Financial lead on £12m Application Support and Maintenance (ASM) contract for UK.• Financial lead on governance process determining utilisation of investment of £323m Oracle Enterprise Wide License.• Design and build of dynamic platform dashboard that consolidated disparate data sources, improved the consistency and speed of monthly reporting for all Finance leads supporting BT’s internal Technology division.• Improved performance of reporting within the Finance function by developing new processes and applications to ensure consistent approach to tracking efficiencies and consolidation of quarterly budgeting templates.

Provided robust financial and commercial analysis of bid proposals to influence decisions for the benefit of the business, based on risk mitigation, commercial positioning and inherent profitability. This involved constructively challenging proposals and decisions that were not aligned to the business’ strategic goals. Achievements included:• Provided temporary cover for Head of EMEA Bid Finance for 6 months.• Financial lead on €290m contract extension with Inbev• Financial lead (including customer negotiations) on $1.7bn global outsource bid for Shell Petroleum.• Financial lead (including supplier negotiations) on a $1bn procurement deal identifying a global off-shoring partner for use within BT Global Services.• Managed and subsequently re-deployed off-shore team of 12 accountants in India.• Managed the design, development and implementation of the Bid Finance web portal and live-link integration.
