Early on in life I decided that one day I would become an engineer for two reasons; math is always the same in every language, and all people are equal under the laws of physics. What is more important than learning the language of our universe? What is more impactful than using this language of numbers and symbols to solve the most pressing issues that face humanity today, or those that we may face tommorow? There is something about my critical thinking process that helps me see the patterns in a system and easily understand how the individual components relate to each other. My affinity for understanding patterns is most useful when there is a desired solution or past outcome that needs to be reverse engineered to define the rules of a system. The earliest application of this thought process in my life was when I taught myself how to play minesweeper in elementary school. After loosing each game I would study the screen to figure out what I did wrong. It only took a few games for me to learn the meaning of the numbers, and maybe ten more losses to identify common patterns, and increase my speed. Now I have a complete understanding of the game, and have learned the big secret behind the numbers, that there is a 50/50 chance to win no matter what you do. The best way to prove you understand something to explain it in simple terms, a valuable ability to posses when doing group work. Most mechanical engineers find themselves on a team with other professionals or experts in their respective fields. In any team setting I am a natural born leader, choosing to lead by example every time. Over a decade of customer service experience, sales training, and exposure to a wide variety of cultures in New York City, have developed my communication skills so much that it may be my most note worthy quality. With enough time, I can relate to everyone over something, and when on a tream I use my public relation skills to create specific metephors and examples that help my teamates understand me from their unique point of view. With all of this said, if there is one thing my peers will consistantly say about me, and that is that I make the people around me smile. I bring an overwhelming positive attitude everywhere I go, for everyday of the week, and the work place is no different.
