Providing leadership and ensuring that AACCNJ is dedicated to the business development and economic empowerment of American society, and particularly the African American communities within the State of New Jersey, via entrepreneurship utilizing educational models, best practices and technical assistance.John Harmon is the former President and CEO of the Metropolitan Trenton African American Chamber of Commerce (MTAACC). Under his guidance, MTAACC grew its membership substantially, established affiliations with the Mercer County Regional Chamber of Commerce, the National Black Chamber of Commerce, and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and forged strategic partnerships in the public and private sectors to benefit African American businesses throughout New Jersey.John Harmon has been featured on television and radio and in several publications including the covers of Mercer Business and NJ Biz Magazines. He is the recipient of the New Jersey Transit Outstanding Service Award, the Regional Alliance for Small Contractors "Partnerships That Work" Award, the NAACP Freedom Award for Business, a Humanitarian Award from the National Conference for Community and Justice, and The Leadership Award from 100 Black Men of New Jersey.John Harmon also serves as the Regional Vice President of New York and New Jersey for the National Black Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, Mr. Harmon is a Board member of The National Black Chamber of Commerce, the New Jersey State Chamber of Commerce, and The American Chamber of Commerce Executives.Mr. Harmon was recently appointed to The NFL Host Committee for the 2014 Super in New Jersey.In addition as President and CEO of the AACCNJ he recently signed a historic Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Hispanic Statewide Chamber of Commerce.
