As a Scholar in Residence at the University of Colorado Boulder's Engineering Management Program, I teach and conduct research on the influence of human factors on complex socio-technical systems. My goal is to advance the knowledge and practice of resilience engineering, especially in the context of critical infrastructure systems that are essential for public health, safety, and security and in response to catastrophic system failures and disaster events. I have published multiple articles on these topics in peer-reviewed journals and presented my findings at various conferences and workshops. I also serve as the Chief Executive Officer of the Resilience Engineering Institute, a private organization that promotes a common understanding and application of resilience principles across academic disciplines and industry domains. With over 25 years of senior executive experience in various sectors, including wireless communications, software, semiconductors, defense radar, and consumer electronics, I have a broad and diverse perspective on the challenges and opportunities of building and managing resilient teams, organizations, and systems. I have extensive experience with domestic and international leadership in business development, operations, general management (P&L responsibility) and global program / product management in both startup and growth organizations with proven ability to build and manage high-caliber cross-functional teams, strategic partnerships, and distribution networks. I am passionate about leveraging technology like blockchain, digital transformation, and other innovative solutions toward enabling a more sustainable and resilient electric power grid and other critical infrastructures.
