I founded Halsted Street Capital in August of 2011. During this time, I have consulted on a variety of projects including debt and equity capital raising; strategic planning and turn-around work. I have consulted in a array of industries including steel service, financial services, hospitality; real estate and service industries.

I joined DIR Development as CFO just prior to year end 2020, and assisted ownership in an acquisition as well as a disposal. My responsibilities include financial modeling and reporting; cash flow management; transaction structuring and financing. We also are undergoing a conversion of our accounting system, to further strengthen our financial reporting, our understanding of our tenants and properties, and providing additional support to our core business.We are undergoing rapid growth, and are actively sourcing capital both internally and externally. As DIR is a family owned business, we source capital consistent with the long term goals for the family. Our business is built primarily around identifying and acquiring underperforming real estate opportunities, the turning these properties around, improving performance, and ultimately refinancing the properties, after they are successfully redeveloped/repurposed.

I joined Peakstone Group to better marry my experience and client base with the capital raising and M&A capabilities of a proven Middle Market Investment Bank. Peakstone and its team have completed hundreds of transactions totaling Billions of Dollars in aggregate over the years, with a continuing focus on companies with valuations between $10 - $100 Million.

I was been recruited into Guaranteed Rate to start up a multifamily and commercial real estate lending business, within the overall Company. The goal is to build technology and relationships both internally and externally, to provide the existing staff of proven Loan Originators with expanded product capability. In this role, we will be exploring potential for a more streamlined process for receiving and processing applications; underwriting transactions; and finding the most efficient ways to deliver these loans to investors, nationwide.

Reported to Chairman/CEO, and was responsible for the sales side. Recruited talent to transition the institution from its thrift origins to a commercial bank, with niche specialties in Small Business Lending and Asset Based Lending. Spent extensive time and effort on work-outs in the real estate portfolio. I was brought in by the prior owners of Labe Bank to execute a turn around, and was retained by the subsequent owners as part of the private equity backed growth strategy.

Ran a national business line for ABN Amro and LaSalle National Bank. Included recruiting staff and re-allocating capital to generate returns exceeding budget in each year of operation. Included in this business portfolio was insourcing; debt capital markets origination; asset back transactions (both private and public; rated and unrated). Gained additional experience in several global initiatives such as Strategic Alliance work and Global Transaction Services. Had a brief, but thoroughly enjoyable international experience, working abroad for ABN Amro.

Multiple different roles during the twenty years there, including bank and nonbank financial institutions; trade finance; credit approval; due diligence, and other functions. Increasing management responsibility, growing from portfolio management to team management to business line management.
