Propak Logistic is a privately held third party provider of logistics, transportation and supply chain solutions. With over 50 locations across the US, Propak utilizes over 1 million square feet of warehouse space to support solutions in transportation logistics, reverse logistics, and a niche in pallets industry. The initial priority was to establish leadership and defined responsibilities. The plant manager and operation manager position had been vacant for six plus months with no interim leadership. New Breed Logistics is a privately held, third party logistics provider of efficient operational systems for companies such as Boeing, Comcast, Disney and Verizon wireless. New Breed employs more than 7500 employees at over 60 warehouses worldwide. The first priority was to stabilize customer relations and standardize work processes. Customer relations within the facility were apprehensive which yielded a stressful working environment. With open and direct communication with the onsite representatives, relations were mended over time. Chef’s Requested Foods is a privately held meat manufacturing producer with Wal-Mart as the largest customer. Initially brought on board to manage and reduce costs in the warehouse. With improvements in workflow and warehouse layouts, overtime was reduced from 50% to zero. Inventory control and maintenance were secondary functions to production and shipping/receiving and therefore had little to no reporting and accountability. With continued success in developing systems and processes in the warehouse and maintenance, further cost reducing achievements were obtained as the plant manager.
