Cophill Power Engineering is a small, independent electrical contractor specializing in the installation, modification, maintenance, and protection testing of high voltage (HV) and low voltage (LV) switchgear.While working at Cophill Power Engineering, I delivered a variety of projects, from large data centers with multiple HV and LV switchboards to black building LV maintenance. I also improved my knowledge of different HV protection systems and new testing technologies, such as the Omicron Testrano 600 and Omicron CT Analyzer, which can reduce testing time.Duties Included: Performing HV/LV isolations of customer switchgear this would sometimes include leasing with UKPN to perform black buildings.Issuing and receiving of permit to works and limitation of access to reliant parties.Receiving deliveries of HV/LV switchgear to site, we would check the delivery, then safely move the switchgear to its final position where we bolt together all sections and fit any busbars and interwiring.Performing commissioning of HV/LV switchgear including dead testing, functional testing and primary/secondary testing of protection relays, ACBs and MCCBsAssisted with 24/7 emergency callout services, with a focus on restoring power efficiently. Assisted with temporary backup generators, fault finding, and provided information back to the office for post-restoration planned repairs.

J.K.E. Services offered a variety of plumbing and electrical services to domestic properties. This also allowed me to subcontract out to other small plumbing and electrical companies I had established good working relationships with.Setting up  and running my own business was a large learning experience with numerous challenges however overcoming these has provided me with a wealth of skills, insight and knowledge. I have provided a number of services for a variety of customers most of which have recommended my services or requested me to return and carry out further works. Around 2013 I teamed up with two others and we began purchasing dilapidated properties where we performed stripouts, redesigned the layouts, rewired, replumbed & redecorated prior to selling and moving on to the next property.

Throughout my career with Burnell I worked my way up from electrician, Building containerised solar farm substations and small lighting control panels, to sitework chargehand overseeing teams of sitework engineers and working with the sitework foreman to ensure smooth delivery and high quality installations. Alongside these duties I qualified and gained my experience as a HV SAP where I performed HV/MV/LV safe isolations for maintenance, modifications testing and installations of switchgear, package substations and control panels.Duties Included: Conducted site surveys and created delivery and installation plans for switchboards. This included organising mechanical aids, devising the safest and easiest routes through the site, and liaising with the site contact to ensure a smooth delivery and installation.Coordinated a team and conducted a pre-work briefing to assign everyone's roles for the day and ensure they were up-to-date on the Risk Assessment and Method Statement (RAMS) for the work they were about to begin.Communicate with the project manager and customer about any issues or questions that arise during the installation works.Performing factory acceptance test (FAT) and site acceptance test (SAT) to customers and clients this would consist of a full test of the product including dead,primary,secondary, functional and automation testing and ensuring the customer is happy with their finished product.Building LV switchboards from scratch including forming and installation of busbar, installation of all components and wiring of metering and controls.Fitout of containerised substations from install of sockets and lighting to switchgear, cast resin and oil transformers, battery chargers, soft start units and coms panels.Performing HV/LV isolations of customer switchgear this would sometimes include leasing with UKPN to perform black buildings.Issuing and receiving of permit to work and limitation of access to relevant parties.

Provide financial, administrative and clerical services and to ensure accuracy and efficiency of operations including keeping track of and processing accounts and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures, Perform day to day financial transactions including verifying, classifying, computing, posting and recording accounts receivable data, reconciling the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted. Verify discrepancies and resolve clients’ billing issues, Facilitate swift payment of invoices due to the organisation by sending bill reminders and contacting clients with outstanding accounts, Generate financial statements and reports detailing accounts receivable status.

Providing support to the Branch Manager by assisting in all operational activities – ensuring to maintain the highest levels of customer service, Involvement in a range of branch and supplier management activities whilst maximizing sales and margin.

The main point of contact for customer queries and questions providing customer service of the highest possible standard. Whilst striving to maximize sales potential and effectively deal with a range of administrative tasks.

Responsible for the receipt, checking, movement and storage of incoming goods, as well as the picking, packing and labeling of products prior to dispatch. Assisting in other areas as required
