Procure and distribute materials for K-8 science to all 32 elementary and 12 middle schools in the Madison Metropolitan School District. Provide analysis of materials use to gauge trends in science education, and to find patterns that suggest areas of the curriculum that need improvement or better support efforts for classroom teachers.Current projects include --reviewing new curriculum from two vantage points: through a materials and fiscal lens, and through a general science lens. Asking what is efficient and effective, especially in terms of materials selection and replenishment processes; what background information is missing from the units, and how do we address the missing parts?--launching a "one-stop" web page for teachers to find answers to their most common or pressing questions for science: how-to videos and other visual media, FAQs, and procedural matters for teaching science in our district.--directing software overhaul, in collaboration with our internal IT department, designed both to dramatically improve end-user (classroom teacher) experience, and to bring significant functionality improvements for myself and my staff.

Supply consumable science materials and live specimens for all 32 elementary and 12 middle schools in the Madison Metropolitan School District. Includes a) cultivating 12+ different genera of terrestrial and aquatic animal specimens--300-10,000+ individuals depending on species, several species of aquatic plants, and developing and disseminating best practices; and b) warehouse management of nearly 500 types of items and 100,000+ individual items per year, from vendor selection and purchasing through delivery to approximately 800 teachers district-wide. By centralizing ordering and distribution, we are able to provide materials to classrooms at 5-8% of the projected cost of using standard systems with one quarter to one fifth of the personnel.Beginning Sept 2014, instituted three unpaid internships, staffed by UW-Madison students with biology and related majors. Increased to seven in Jan 2015.

Provide unarmed security presence at James Madison Memorial High School. Team focused on deescalation and early intervention in order to provide a safe learning environment.
