Non Commissioned Officer
1St Battalion, 3D Marines
During the period of April 2012 and October 2013, I held the position of Legal NCOIC for 1st Battalion 3d Marines on Marine Corps Base Hawaii. My duties included making liaison with the Base Legal Office, CID, Military Police Office and Joint-Base Pearl Harbor Brig on Ford Island for legal purposes. This included Non-Judicial Punishments Administrative separations, Courts-Martials, Brig runs and investigations. In this time period, I put together and completed at my level over 200 Non-Judicial Punishment Packages, 25 Administrative Separation Packages and 15 Courts-Martials. Starting in November 2013, I became the S-1 Administrative NCOIC (Non-Commissioned Officer In Charge) which required that I supervise Junior Marines in day to day business including morning physical training sessions. This also included the processing of 900 Marines in the battalion's proper entitlements for payment, maintaining files, producing awards, conducting Non-Judicial punishment packages and administrative separation packages and I was also in charge of the Battalions travel program as well as processing travel claims. From the period of April 2014 to June 2014, I served as the Legal Chief and S-1 Non-Commissioned Officer in charge where I was acting Administrative Chief for the battalion managing the deployment of the 900 Marines in the battalion from Hawaii to Okinawa, Japan in support of the Unit Deployment Program (UDP). During this time I facilitated the completion of more than 1000 travel vouchers totaling in excess of $500,000. My legal expertise led to the successful conclusion of 22 Non-Judicial Punishments, 10 Courts-Martials and 10 administrative separations for this time period.
