I have been retired from Xerox Latin American Group and moved to Cape Cod in 1998. Since I’ve lived here in Orleans I have been a volunteer on several Town and Non Profit Boards and Committees. It has been a wonderful experience to utilize my skills on Town Boards, Non Profit Committees and learn about local Government. It is been a great experience and as I fulfill my terms of duty I enjoy moving to new ventures.

This has been a great experience working on our regulatory duties with the Board undertaking many forward planning initiatives and looking back to some of the Planning Board’s initiatives over the years. • Lighting Bylaw to preserve the wonderful views of our night sky while directing lighting where needed. • Traffic Study which identified weakness in our Town roads and intersections which has resulted in improvements underway and currently planned. • Updated and validated the Orleans Comprehensive Plan. • Implemented a Marketing Study which looked into our Town’s viability, identifying 53 initiatives that would enhance our Town’s future and formed the basis for many working groups focusing on desired, businesses, street lighting, street furniture and interesting amenities. • As a result of dedicated committee work we received resources and support from the cape Cod Commission developing “The Streetscape Plan”. This was an important milestone for the many working groups to enhance the Village Center. Generous Towns people, Business owners, Orleans Community Partnership, Orleans Improvement Association businesses, DPW and Planning board all worked together and formed the basis for the construction of Theresa’s Way, Cove Road Parking lot, design of new benches, planters, placement of many new trees, Streetlights at the Roundabout and for the reconstruction of the two main intersections . • State designation of Orleans as a Cultural District. • Cape Cod Commission’s, resources and support of the 6A project. • Developed a historical profile of Orleans Community Indicators with data and graphics spanning over 13 years. * Created detail graphs of the Orleans Community Indicators for the Planning Board and Town officials to guide decision making with various graphs published weekly in the Cape Codder as "By the numbers"
