Provide advisory services to people, organizations, and corporations concerning prevention of occupational hearing loss, psychoacoustics, consumer electronics, and product development.

Safe-in-Sound makes awards to recognize organizations that document measurable achievements in hearing loss prevention programs, and to obtain and disseminate information on their real world successes. In 2007, the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) partnered with the National Hearing Conservation Association (NHCA) to create an award for Excellence in Hearing Loss Prevention. This award is called the Safe-in-Sound Excellence in Hearing Loss Prevention Award™. I sit on the committee that reviews the applicants and ultimately makes the awards. The awards are given at the annual meeting of NHCA.

85-3 Coalition encourages companies and organization to adopt and utilize a maximum permissible noise exposure level of 85 dBA, using a 3-dB exchange rate, in lieu of OSHA's 90 dBA PEL and 5-dB exchange rate, thus being more protective against noise induced hearing loss. The 85-3 Coalition has partnership with every professional organization in the United States concerned with the prevention of occupational hearing loss and has been joined by Pioneer organizations such as NASA, Kimberly-Clark, and Northrup Grumman.
