Directly accountable for developing and implementing the Newcastle Grain Terminal's planning systems, to contribute to the effective and efficient functioning of the terminal. Establish effective short to medium term logistics plans through direct liaison with customers, State Rail, shipping agents, stevedoring contractor, grain movement personnel and other transport organisations. Develop operational strategies that achieve optimal use of resources in meeting production targets. Analyse costs and determine financial viability of various resourcing options to ensure the terminal operates with an optimum return.

The position is responsible for the detailed scheduling of all steel production within Integrated Steel based on maximising throughput to Integrated Steel's Customers, excellent delivery performance, controlling the level of billet & bloom stocks and optimum operating expense. The position is also the focal point for inter-departmental coordination and communications on shift across Integrated Steel. • Produce daily production schedules for Integrated Steel operations based on the Master Schedules requirements and current production capability. Direct Steelmaking, Caster & Bloom Mill operations to ensure maximised throughput. Keep operators informed of progress against time schedule and suggest corrective action to restore schedule if wandering.
