John H. Fullerton, MD, MRO, CMD, CFP, FACP, AGSF, FAAHPM, FASAM has been a full-time practicing physician in General Internal Medicine since 1989 with active licenses in CA & FL. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Geriatric Medicine, Hospice & Palliative Medicine and Addiction Medicine.
He has maintained a hospital-based, home care based, and private practice for many years in Pacific Heights/Nob Hill and in Southern Marin. He is also certified as a Medical Director in numerous regional communities/facilities including AlmaVia of San Rafael and Professional Post Acute in San Rafael as well as a certified Hospice Medical Director part-time for Hospice by the Bay.Dr. Fullerton sits on the Board of Directors for the CCCC (California Culture Change Coalition) which recognizes the need for nursing homes in the continuum of care, but seeks to 'change the culture' by dramatically altering the way in which that care is delivered and transforming the culture into a resident-centered organization, committed to redefining the way staff work and residents are served for the better.He is President Elect of the California Chapter of AMDA - the American Medical Directors Association - (CALTCM), and is a member of the Board of Directors and Co-Chair of the Policy & Procedure Committee. Additionally, he is on the Public Policy Committee of AMDA in Washington, DC.Dr. Fullerton served as Key Internal Medicine Faculty of the Internal Medicine Residency Program and was proud Director of Geriatrics at St. Mary's Medical Center [Dignity Healthcare-SF, CA] 2009-10/2016.He is on the clinical faculty of UCSF, USC and Yale University Medical School(s) in their respective Department(s) of Medicine and serves as a clinical instructor for medical students and residents at the San Francisco Free Clinic (an affiliate of UCSF and Yale Medical Schools).
