About John Furrh

Senior Quality Management, Operations, Food Safety, and Regulatory leader with a track record of delivering improved performance results in highly challenging and competitive situations. Throughout my career, I have played a leadership role in the development, training, and nurturing of a “process systems mind-set” at all levels of the organization by promoting and emphasizing that a Total Quality/Process Improvement approach can be taken in all areas of an operation. I believe this is the best way for an organization to function efficiently and satisfy both internal and external customer needs. The strength of these quality and continuous improvement methods is that they can be applied to any industry or product. In the short time I have been at Roytec Industries, I have led an effort to adopt a more process oriented repeatable manufacturing process, This more standardized approach to manufacturing has resulted in significantly improved product quality and process consistency. This new approach has also resulted in increased customer satisfaction and improved profitability for the organization. While at Ampac, I was instrumental in establishing a systematic and sustainable approach to quality, regulatory, and continuous improvement at all Ampac locations resulting in significantly improved quality performance and profitability. While at Printpack, I developed and implemented a continuous improvement process called Power Tools for Process Improvement based on the best of the Six Sigma (DMAIC/DFSS), Lean Methods, Statistical Thinking, and TQM. Printpack realized over $98 million in savings using this method.Areas of Expertise:Quality Management & Assurance / Regulatory Management & Compliance / Strategy Development & Implementation / Six Sigma / Lean Methods / Continuous Improvement / Improved Operations Performance / Training, Coaching & Mentoring / ISO 9000 / Auditing / Risk & Hazard Analysis / Product & Food Safety / GFSI Protocols
