- Main focus was on developing Mobile apps interfacing to SAP systems via cloud based middleware. - Programming for these systems was done using Object Orientated ABAP, SQL, BAPIs, XML, SOAP and the Movilizer Expression Language (MEL) which is based on Javascript. - Apps developed covered a range of SAP functionality, examples include: posting goods receipts for purchase orders, taking stock counts for physical inventory documents and processing approvals for a variety of business processes.- Developed a mobile App that allowed customers to complete a questionnaire on work carried out by a utility company. The App collects 10,000 responses a month which can be analysed in SAP with an ABAP report using an ALV grid.- Used C# and Movilizer to develop a system which allowed gas safety inspections to be completed by mobile devices and collected on a central server.- Work for Lemongrass was carried out remotely from home with regular visits to client sites. Projects followed an Agile Scrum methodology managed online using Axosoft. - Tested and supported Lemongrass software.- Troubleshooting problems in live environments.

Inverness Medical is a global supplier of medical tests for use in home care and hospitals. Here I worked on maintaining and developing the Inverness Medical global data warehouse, reporting system and intranet portal. This included designing and developing web interfaces that could be used via the Inverness intranet to allow users to load financial data into the data warehouse and generate reports on the portal based on that data.

BCA was the premier direct marketer of books in the UK. Here I worked on developing interfaces to extract data from the BCA data warehouse to smaller data marts for use by list brokers and customers.

Here I worked on projects for a variety of customers in the US. Initially I focussed on ABAP programming but moved into data warehousing. I was certified as an SAP BW consultant. Key projects included: for FedEx creating an interface that could be used to allow SAP to communicate with FedEx's shipping software, this interface was certified by SAP; and for BCA specifying and designing an interface that would allow BCA's service assurance product to monitor SAP's BW, this functionality was presented at SAPPHIRE '99 in Paris.

Initially I worked at Origin as a general programmer working in C, Pascal and Foxpro. I then moved on to ABAP programming mainly interfacing and reporting projects implemented for clients in the UK.

After completing the research project for my MSc in Scientific Computing at the Institute of Psychiatry I stayed on to do voluntary work including data entry work using dbase IV and C programming.
