As a Section Manager at ERS, I was responsible for working across the company with various departments to co-ordinate and deliver workstreams and projects, to the required standards, procedures and quality within specific timeframes. Primarily, I was involved with trade union industrial action ballots in the UK which required working closely with internal and external stakeholders, including liaising with Trade Union organisations to manage and scrutinise the ballot. I provided advice on the legislative requirements with regards to balloting procedures, while also co-ordinating the ongoing schedule and plan taking into account other stipulations and capacity/resourcing concerns. This work particularly required a solid and deep knowledge of the legal framework and considerations around industrial action, while also working closely with the clients to respond dynamically to rapidly evolving and changing situations.In addition to this, I also needed to efficiently manage and prioritise my own workload, with a high and varying amounts of concurrent projects and workstreams ongoing at any one time. I was also responsible for managing the Customer Services team, the team objectives to answer questions, resolve support issues, establish credibility and nurture relationships. My responsibilities in this capacity included performance tracking, regular reviews, appraisals and team member professional development to ensure the continued delivery of high quality output from the team as a whole.
